"The Mühldorf district office requests that the animal not be disturbed in its current habitat," according to an official statement relayed by Der Spiegel." | I just love this kind of thing. Reminds me of the wild ponies in St. David’s, Wales.
This is my close friend Sara. This woman has one of the most honest, beautiful, and captivating voices that I have ever heard in my entire life. This song seems to come from a place that only few can only fully understand; yet on the other hand everyone is forced to try to understand in their life. I just listened to it, and then I listened to it again. She calls it unfinished and yet, it’s one of the best songs I’ve heard.
"Music is healing. and grieving. and happy. and haunting. These songs are the beginnings of ideas. Completely unfinished and raw. For now, I like them that way-simple and melancholy, but instrumentation is sure to come.”
The 2,000 residents of the island nation of Niue are in for an awesome surprise - a…”Niue hope,” if you will. Beginning in November, all Nieueans will have the opportunity to spend silver currency from a galaxy far, far away. As the island is a self-governing nation in free association with…
Really, Star Wars currency? I wonder if China will try to buy it too? It’s probably already worth more than the Yuan!
Animated Sheet Music: “So What” by Miles Davis (by dancohen) | This is amazing. What a great way to teach people to connect written music with the recording as it is played, especially non-jazz musicians. It could assist in exmplaining the abstract concepts of “swing,” style, phrasing, and musical inflections. Great teaching tool!
“When humans should have become as perfect in voluntary obedience as the inanimate creation is in its lifeless obedience, then they will put on its glory, or rather that greater glory of which Nature is only the first sketch.”—~ C. S. Lewis, The Weight of Glory
It’s a bit of an odd band name for a duo with a female lead singer Nicole Barille (with drummer/pianist Sam Meister), but I suppose that’s the point. These Clevelanders celebrate the surreal. In this quaint song, they start out with a whisper and end with a bang, it’s a bit like a neatly packed suitcase - once you open it up, those colorful tidbits go flinging all over the room.
Look for their third full-length album, Madness in Miniature after October 25 from El Marko Records.

The best thing you can do for your fellow next to rousing his conscience, is —
not to give him things to think about -
but to wake things up that are in him;
or say, to make him think things for himself.
